2020 Washington D.C. trip canceled
I want to thank you for your tremendous patience as we’ve navigated this situation with our partners at WorldStrides. Due to the announcement of DC still in Phase 1 as of today we have decided to not travel July 2020.
I know we’re all disappointed by the disruptions that COVID- 19 caused and missing the chance to travel together is just one thing that is making this time so hard. WorldStrides will honor the Full Refund Program, as we’ve already discussed. Here’s the change. For those who did not purchase FRP, you will also get a similar cash refund (including deposit), with an adjustment of $145 for just a small portion of WorldStrides’ unrecoverable costs. No action is required on your part to begin the refund process. Please note your exact refund amount may vary depending on what you’ve paid in toward your trip cost at this time. You can log-in to your account on MyTrip to view what you paid toward your trip. Fees are not refundable. If you need additional clarification, you can reach out directly to a special hotline for WorldStrides’ Customer Support at 800-468-5899.
Due to the high volume of refunds being processed, WorldStrides has asked for your understanding on timing. Families can expect to receive refunds in 6-8 weeks from your original departure date.
We would love for you to attend our 2021 trip to Washington DC April 22nd – April 26th, 2021. This would mean your child would travel with next year’s 8th graders. If you would like WorldStrides to roll your account over to the 2021 trip at no extra cost INSTEAD of refunding you please let me know by THIS WEDNESDAY JUNE 17TH. You may also apply the cost of this year’s trip to a child who will be taking the trip next year as an 8th grader. The Trip ID number for this group is #187678. If you roll your account you have the opportunity to purchase insurance for this program until October 1, 2020. If you choose either of these options, you must let Ms. Lukes know by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 17th. Refunds should not take 6 weeks as state previously because they will start our refund process on the 18th. This is the reason for the quick notice.
The team at WorldStrides asked me to share their appreciation for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times. We hope this change allows the organization to earn your trust going forward, as we continue to navigate this difficult time in our history together. Please email Ms. Lukes with questions. Again, if you are canceling, there is nothing you need to do. Your refund will start to be processed on Thursday, the 18th. If your child may want to travel with our 2021 trip or if you have an 8th grader next year, you may transfer your money, but you need to let Ms. Lukes know by Wednesday, the 17th. You will not forfeit your insurance money if you choose this option.
