7th & 8th Grade Boys & girls wrestling
We are excited to start the Middle School Wrestling season. This season will be a little different than past seasons. This year anyone 13 or older, or anyone that turns 13 during the season may participate and will be required to take a COVID test the day prior to competing. Testing will be provided, there will be no additional cost to the athletes for testing. Please see more information below regarding the testing.
All wrestlers are required to wear masks during practices, at meets, on the bus, etc... The only time a wrestler can take their mask off will be during competition. It is REQUIRED that each athlete 13 years of age or older completes a COVID TEST (see more info below on the type of test) either the day before (at the weigh-in or the day of) in order to compete. The test will be administered by an HVS designee who has been trained.
Prior to testing, we will need the MHSAA Consent form completed and returned. Please see attached. When completing the second page please leave the date and symptoms questions blank, we will make copies of this page and use it for the additional tests. This way your athlete will not have to complete a new form each time. The testing site is the location of your middle school. There is also a MDHHS Code of Conduct form that will need to be completed prior to the first day of testing.
Below are two resources you can use to gather all the information on how the tests are conducted, expectations, etc...

Athletes are permitted to wrestle in a meet one time per week. This year there are five middle schools in the LVCMS allowing wrestling: Mason (Waterford), Pierce (Waterford), Muir (HVS), Oak Valley (HVS), White Lake (HVS). A schedule will be out in the next few days.
Wrestling practice will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. All practices will take place at Oak Valley Middle School’s gym, from 3:00-4:30pm.
